Make Your Own Delicious Guacamole

You just can’t beat some lovely, freshly made guacamole.  This classic dip is perfect as a snack with some tortilla chips, or it looks impressive enough to take as your offering to a party!

This recipe is amended from a few others I’ve found and it really is the tastiest and best guacamole I’ve tasted.  Super yummy!  And it’s hard to believe something so tasty only takes about 15 minutes to whip up.  There’s no cooking involved either, so it’s remarkably easy.  It’s pretty much just smooshing all the ingredients in a bowl and you’re good to go!

Preparation time:  15 minutes
Cooking time: none
Serves: 8 as a dip

  • 2 mild chillies, finely chopped (or more/hotter chillies if you like it hot)
  • 1 large ripe tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • handful coriander leaves & stalks, chopped
  • salt to season
  • 3 very ripe avocados
  • juice of 1 lime

Preparation method

  1. Tip the chillies, tomato, onion, coriander and salt into a pestle & mortar and pound to a fine paste.
  2. Add the lime juice to loosen the mixture, and a little water if necessary.
  3. Mash the avocados into the mixture, and mix through. (Mash them less to make it more chunky, or mash them more to get a nice smooth, creamy guacamole).
  4. Sprinkle with a few roughly chopped coriander leaves and serve!
